Filter Bubble

about

Inspired by journalists who complain about social media being a "filter bubble", as if newspapers have never acted as a filter bubble. The track has sonic filters repeatedly rising and falling on the repeated line "filter filter filter bubble", making it bubble up and down throughout the track. As for the "tortoise" line - I was trying to be offensive without swearing... well, myself and my nine-year-old were amused... It's also a reference to Jonny L's rare track "Jonny L (Part One)" in which he says to someone on the phone who is asking if his surname is just one letter: "Oh you silly doe... yes!"

(Mat Ward):
Hang on a minute
Are you trying to tell me
There was no such thing as filter bubbles
Before social media?
You are kidding
Every single newspaper is a filter bubble
You tortoise
Filter filter filter bubble
Filter filter filter bubble
Filter filter filter bubble
Filter filter filter bubble
Filter filter filter bubble
Filter filter filter bubble
Filter filter filter bubble
Bubble bubble bubble bubble
