I was originally looking for a quote from a certain book about Wall Street that my friend, a disaffected fund manager and Frank Zappa fan, gave me - Fred Schwed's Where Are All The Customer's Yachts? Yet nothing I could remember from it was as succinct as its title, which seemed too obvious. This quote from John Lanchester pretty much sums up the book.
